Love and art – these two words I find important, though difficult to define.
We can perceive them in terms of emotion and sensation, yet they escape any attempts to be framed within a simple definition. Both have been variously described, which proves that they are not easy to define.
Genuine love, much as art, is free and gives liberty to the object it adores. It is open, fully offering and expressing itself. It communicates with gestures, just as art does using texture, colour, or shape. Many have failed in their attempts to explain and define love and art. Both have left a lasting imprint on the hearts of those who have experienced either of them. When the beloved ones are no longer with us, our love remains; when artists pass away, we still admire their works.
